THE LONGEST DITCH ( SHORT )

AN ESPRESSO FILM PRODUCTION

DIRECTOR: HUGH FARLEY

PRODUCTION DESIGNER: MICHAEL MOYNIHAN

MY ROLE: ART DIRECTOR

The true story of Irish Steeplechase runner Sonny Murphy, who put his commitment to the village that had sacrificed so much to send him to the Los Angeles Olympic games of 1932 before his personal well-being.

Working closely with the Production Designer, our brief from the Director was to create an authentic 1930’s Ireland with a combination of location dressing and set building. I sourced props, painted and aged furniture, I took on the sign writing of the banners and the prop making of the 1930’s Los Angeles studio radio microphone.
