MOUSTACHE ( SHORT )

A LITTLE WARRIOR FILMS PRODUCTION

DIRECTOR: TOMÁS SEOIGE

MY ROLE: PRODUCTION DESIGNER

This short drama deals with a man in his 30’s who is trying to deal with the recent loss of his wife through the only positive aspect of his life at this time; his membership of the local moustache club. This club promotes the wearing, growth and appreciation of fully formed, luscious moustaches and they enter many local and national competitions. This film is about the small victories that make such a big difference to people especially in the lives of those who are struggling with the hardships of life.

Made as part of The Clones Film Festival, 48 hours film challenge. In my role as Production Designer, the look and style of this piece was vital in conveying the internal struggle of our main character, while looking at the lighter more comic side of the moustache competition. I worked closely with the Director and Cinematographer to dress the sets and source practical lamps to enhance the world of the story on camera. The short turnaround time of the film challenge competition helped to focus effective design choices and practical solution driven outcomes.
