THE GIRL AT THE END OF THE GARDEN (SHORT)
A DYEHOUSE FILMS PRODUCTION
DIRECTOR: BONNIE DEMPSEY
MY ROLE: PRODUCTION DESIGNER
A slapstick comedy about an unhappy young girl whose life is turned upside-down when she finds a mysterious runaway with psychic powers in her back garden.

I worked closely with the Director and Cinematograher to convey our cinematic influences inspired by Spielbergian stories like 'E.T.' and 'Stranger Things'. One of my briefs was to create an apple tree in a suburban back garden. This required a lot of research and testing before finding a cost effective solution on screen. I collaborated with a magician to develop some of the magic realism visual effects that were required on set, including floating apple cores, leaves, cutlery and furniture. I co-ordinated with the Art Director onset to deliver the food styling requirements.
